Driving Immunization Programs from Plan to Protection

With a career dedicated to routine immunization, I have led and supported the end-to-end execution of large-scale vaccination initiatives, from strategic design and logistical planning to frontline delivery and evidence-based optimization.

Strategic Program Design & Planning

  • Architected and implemented innovative, computerized microplanning tools adopted by governments and partners across 8+ Indian states to enhance the precision of vaccine and resource allocation.

  • Contributed to global guidance, supporting WHO Geneva in updating the "Guidance on Operational Microplanning for COVID-19 Vaccination" and developing associated global training packages.

  • Provided technical assistance for the successful introduction of new vaccines, including Japanese Encephalitis (JE), Hepatitis B, and Pentavalent vaccines, from national planning to district-level rollout.

Data-Driven Management & Digital Transformation

  • Developed dynamic data analytics tools and dashboards for WHO, UNICEF, and country governments to monitor immunization coverage, equity, and key performance indicators in real-time.

  • Engineered computerized Routine Immunization Monitoring Tools for WHO country offices (Nepal, Myanmar) to automate analysis of coverage, dropouts, and vaccine stock, enabling data-driven decision-making.

  • Spearheaded the development of a learning document for UNDP on India's Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN), a transformative supply chain innovation, to facilitate its global scale-up.

Equity-Focused Coverage & Community Engagement

  • Pioneered and scaled up high-impact intervention models, including "My Village My Home" for community-based monitoring of child immunization, leading to measurable increases in coverage.

  • Conducted in-depth national and sub-national equity analyses for WHO Europe and UNICEF South Asia, identifying disparities and targeting underserved populations to bridge the immunization gap.

  • Developed context-specific supportive supervision checklists and institutionalized the RAPID model to improve service quality and data use in underperforming districts.

Outbreak Response & Pandemic Vaccination

  • Played a critical role in the global COVID-19 response, providing technical assistance for the analysis of vaccine deployment data and developing monthly regional and country specific summaries for 31 countries in the WHO European Region.

  • Served as a lead qualitative researcher for a multi-country assessment on integrating COVID-19 vaccination into existing health systems, informing global best practices.

System Strengthening & Sustainable Capacity

  • Co-authored and contributed to over 25 scientific publications and seminal strategy documents, including India's Immunization Handbook for Medical Officers (2008) and Health Workers (2006), to build knowledge and guide program implementation.

  • As a certified master trainer, built the capacity of thousands of government officials and health workers through the development of training manuals and direct facilitation of workshops.

  • Co-facilitated trainings for strengthening of adverse event following immunization (AEFI) surveillance and cold chain management systems.

  • Supported in establishing demonstration sites and developing reference handbooks for health workers.

Core Areas

  • End-to-End Program Management: Expert support in microplanning, vaccine logistics, data systems, and monitoring to keep programs on track.

  • New Vaccine Introduction: Comprehensive coordination of new vaccine rollouts—from planning and training to monitoring and documentation.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Transforming raw data into actionable insights with dynamic dashboards and analytical tools for coverage analysis.

  • Practical Resource Development: Creating field-ready operational guidelines, job aids, and training materials for health workers and governments.
