Building Resilient and Effective Health Systems
My work focuses on building robust, equitable, and sustainable health systems from the ground up. My experience spans strategic planning, data-driven management, and capacity building across all levels of the health system.
Strategic Planning & Policy Development
-
Provided technical assistance to government bodies for developing state-level action plans (e.g., Punjab State Action Plan for Injection Safety) and national strategic documents, including contributions to India’s National RMNCH+A Strategy.
-
Developed operational frameworks and implementation guidelines for critical health areas, including injection safety, healthcare waste management, and immunization microplanning for governments and WHO.
-
Supported the development of data improvement plans and digitalization roadmaps for national immunization information systems in countries like Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
Data Systems & Digital Health
-
Designed and developed multiple computerized data management and analysis tools (using MS Excel, and other platforms) to facilitate real-time monitoring of immunization coverage, equity, and key performance indicators at sub-national levels.
-
Played a key role in the documentation and knowledge management of India’s Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN), a flagship innovation for strengthening the immunization supply chain.
-
Provided technical support to draft WHO/Europe guidelines on the digitalization of Immunization Information Systems.
Capacity Building & Institutional Strengthening
-
Certified master trainer; developed comprehensive training packages, handbooks, and facilitator guides for government officials and healthcare staff on immunization, injection safety, and supportive supervision.
-
Designed and institutionalized supportive supervision models (e.g., the RAPID model) and review mechanisms to improve service quality and data use for decision-making at state, district, and facility levels.
-
Strengthened planning and budgeting processes by supporting the development of annual Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs) and integrating microplanning into existing council health plans.
Supply Chain & Logistics Management
-
Contributed to strengthening vaccine logistics and cold chain management by developing demonstration sites, operational guidelines, and computer-based tools for vaccine and logistics estimation.
-
Conducted assessments and developed protocols to improve immunization waste management practices and injection safety at the national and state levels.
Evidence Generation for System Improvement
-
Conducted numerous baseline assessments, evaluations, and operational research (e.g., on integration of services, private sector engagement, and equity analyses) to identify health system gaps and inform targeted interventions.
Core Areas
