I focus on addressing the unique health challenges of urban environments by strengthening primary care infrastructure, improving data systems, and tailoring interventions for vulnerable urban populations.

 

Urban Health Assessments & Baseline Analysis

  • Conducted comprehensive baseline situation assessments and developed district factsheets for 12 selected districts in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh under an urban immunization project, establishing a critical evidence base for program planning.

  • Contributed to an endline report on improving service readiness at Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) in Indore, documenting measurable improvements and guiding future investments.

 

Strengthening Urban Primary Health Care

  • Supported end-of-project documentation for The Challenge Initiative for Healthy Cities (TCIHC) in Indore, capturing lessons learned and high-impact interventions for improving reproductive and child health in an urban setting.

  • Contributed to developing an implementation framework for setting up Integrated Paediatric Units (IPUs) at district hospitals, enhancing specialized care access in urban centers.

 

Urban Immunization Program Strengthening

  • Provided technical assistance to strengthen routine immunization systems in urban areas, focusing on improving planning, monitoring, and service delivery for hard-to-reach and migrant populations.

  • Developed strategy documents and operational plans for expanding immunization support to both public and private sector health facilities within urban landscapes.

 

Engaging the Private Sector in Urban Health

  • Mapped stakeholders and developed engagement strategies to leverage private sector providers for health service delivery in urban areas, particularly for COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunization.

 

Addressing Social Determinants in Urban Slums

  • Conducted early-career research on early childhood care practices and health-seeking behaviors in urban slums, providing insights into the barriers faced by marginalized urban communities.

  • Investigated breastfeeding practices and neonatal care in urban slums, forming a foundation for community-based health education and peer support programs tailored to urban settings.
